Beating the muay femur: Muay Thai guide
The technical, long-range fighter wins by scoring cleanly. Take away the space.
A muay femur fighter is a technician: teeps, long kicks, counters and calm footwork. They score well and give nothing away. Rushing them rarely works.
Cut off the ring. Use the jab and teep to take their space, check their kicks and attack their lead leg. When you close, mix levels so they cannot predict the next shot.
Key points
- Cut the ring: step so they cannot circle freely.
- Attack the lead leg with low kicks.
- Check their kicks and counter.
- Use feints to break their rhythm.
- Don't rush in a straight line.
- Clinch when they back to the ropes.
Common mistakes and how to fix them
- Charging in. Walk in small steps with your guard up.
- Predictable combos. Mix levels and rhythm.
- Ignoring the legs. Low kicks slow a technician.
